CARVIDO offers customers its own 3D configurator for bespoke cabinetry. Customers set millimeter-exact dimensions, plan complex layouts, choose materials and arrange internal sections. Each design appears as an accurate 3D product model they can order directly. The 3Dconfigurator was a joint project: CARVIDO set the direction, and DTG designed the technical architecture and built the platform.
The next challenge was helping customers understand those highly customized products in their intended space. A technical 3D model shows the cabinet itself, but a complete interior view provides the context needed to assess proportions, materials, lighting, and overall fit.

Until now, creating those visuals required CARVIDO’s interior designers to build room scenes manually for individual configurations. To make contextual visualization scalable, CARVIDO integrated DTG’s custom AI media generation capability directly into the configurator.
The result turns each active product configuration into a starting point for realistic interior imagery, giving customers a more complete view of their custom cabinet and extending the configurator’s value across the buying journey.
The solution – AI visualization connected to the configurator
To realize CARVIDO’s vision of extending its existing 3D configurator with photorealistic AI visualizations, DTG developed and integrated a custom AI rendering solution into the platform. Customer-specified 3D data remains the fixed reference for every generated image, so each scene shows the exact physical cabinet the customer designed within a tailored interior setting.
Before the AI integration, contextual visuals were a manual, case-by-case service. For some customers, CARVIDO’s interior designers built an exact replica of the configured cabinet, placed it into a 3D room and rendered the scene by hand. These visuals had a clear impact on purchase decisions. Each one took 2–3 hours of designer time, which kept the service limited to selected cases.
The new pipeline starts with work that has already been done. The active configuration becomes the source for the visualization, carrying its exact dimensions, materials, doors, and layout geometry into the image generation process. AI handles everything around it, creating the walls, flooring, lighting, and decor that complete the room.

Customers can now move from configuring their cabinet to seeing it in context within the same digital experience. CARVIDO’s designers spend less time recreating configured products and more time on the consultations where their expertise matters most.

The transition from a digital design to a wearable product is usually fragmented. FormFitter unifies project management, asset organization, and print preparation into a single workspace. This brings maximum efficiency to complex builds.

How it works – From configuration to visualization
1
Configuration export
The customer completes their cabinet configuration in the web configurator. System services extract the exact 3D geometry alongside the structured configuration data.
Dimensions, section layouts, edge trims, handle styles, and material finishes are automatically compiled into a unified data payload.
2
3D scene preparation
The backend takes the configuration data and builds a scale-accurate 3D scene of the product. It sets the camera, locks the core geometry, and isolates the target surfaces.
Our GPU farm then renders an intermediate product image with precise material textures, glass reflections, and internal cabinet boundaries. The generative AI receives that image and creates the interior visualization from it.
3
Contextual AI Generation
The generative engine builds the room around the configured 3D product geometry. Automated scene rules define the architectural layout, flooring, daylight and complementary furnishings.
Generative fill then creates the surrounding walls, ceiling and decor and keeps the cabinet’s structure, materials and proportions as close as possible to the configuration. Small variations in material appearance, handles or geometry can still occur, so the configurator’s 3D model remains the binding reference for the product.
4
Delivery and result caching
The finished high-resolution visualization renders directly in the customer pop-up and product page in around 80 seconds. Each visual is linked to its unique configuration code, so repeat requests for the same product retrieve the stored image rather than generating it again.
This removes redundant processing and provides immediate visual feedback.

Why the approach matters – The AI works around the configured product
Generative AI can create convincing e-commerce imagery from text prompts, but the result may distort product dimensions, hardware, or structural details. For custom manufacturing, that creates a clear gap between what the customer sees and what the factory produces.
Our approach starts with the opposite principle: the configured product stays fixed. Exact geometry, dimensions, materials, door alignments, and handle placements come directly from CAD-grade configurator data. Generative AI then builds the environment around that product. Walls, flooring, lighting, and complementary decor adapt to the configured piece without changing its physical specifications. The result connects product configuration, generated imagery, and physical production around the same source of truth: the customer’s actual product.
“
We designed the architecture so the customer's product data stays the source of truth at every step. On-demand GPU rendering and result caching keep the system fast and cost-efficient, and the same approach works for other configurable products.

Expected business impact – Less manual work, more opportunities to visualize
Instant turnaround replacing long design delays
Manual 3D scene creation previously required 2 to 3 hours of designer effort for every visual request. The AI pipeline generates high-fidelity, contextual room scenes in around 80 seconds, drastically shrinking the time required to present custom concepts to potential buyers.
Early visual deployment in the online sales path
Traditional rendering costs forced CARVIDO to reserve custom room visuals for late-stage lead follow-ups. Automated image generation allows CARVIDO to embed contextual visuals early in the online buyer journey, giving every prospective customer immediate spatial clarity during initial configuration.
Higher sales team bandwidth for complex consultation
Eliminating repetitive CAD rendering tasks frees internal designers from routine background generation. Staff reallocate those saved hours toward high-value technical advisory services, custom space planning, and closing active sales inquiries.
Scalable asset generation across full product lines
Expanding visual variations manually scales linearly with designer headcount and payroll costs. The automated system generates infinite room styles, lighting conditions, and floor treatments at near-zero incremental effort, allowing CARVIDO to showcase every material variation instantly.
Higher conversion confidence and reduced bounce rates
Showing a bespoke cabinet inside a fully furnished living space bridges the final hesitation gap for high-ticket purchases. Customers gain complete confidence in their customization choices, driving faster checkout decisions and lowering sales cycle friction.
Reusable visual assets for marketing and advertising
Beyond direct customer interactions, generated interior scenes feed directly into CARVIDO’s marketing engine. CARVIDO’s active campaigns already test these AI-generated visuals across digital ads and social media platforms, producing high-performing promotional content directly from real customer configurations without separate photo shoots.
Early results and next steps – Quantifiable efficiency and expanded marketing reach
Dramatic reduction in rendering turnaround times
Operational processing speed shifted from a 2-to-3-hour manual workflow down to around 80 second generation cycles. CARVIDO now delivers high-resolution, contextual visuals instantly within the customer configuration interface.
100% automated visual pipeline for incoming leads
In-house interior designers no longer spend time manually building 3D room environments for standard customer inquiries. Zero manual CAD setup is required to produce tailored room backgrounds for individual configuration exports.
Validated performance across paid acquisition channels
CARVIDO has started using the generated interior imagery in its social media and digital advertising campaigns. Ongoing tests compare real customer configurations shown in photorealistic AI interiors with standard product shots, measuring click-through rate and engagement. The results will show where AI imagery adds the most value in paid acquisition.
A broader capability – Setting a new standard for custom eCommerce visualization
For CARVIDO, the value of the new workflow goes beyond generating better images. It changes what a customer can experience during the configuration process. A cabinet can be highly customized down to the millimeter, and the customer can still see what that exact product looks like as part of a finished interior. That combination matters in a category where customers are making significant purchases based on products they cannot physically see in their own space. The configurator provides the precision; AI adds the visual context.
For CARVIDO, this also removes a significant amount of manual work from the process. Instead of rebuilding individual configurations to create room scenes, the existing product data drives the visualization automatically. The same capability can then support more than the initial purchase, creating visual assets for sales conversations, product pages, and marketing. The final result is a complete digital buying experience: configure the product, see it in context, and make the decision with a much clearer picture of what the finished piece will look like.
